Bug Bitten - Cicada Tea

Cicada tea is a variety of so-called "bug ask" teas from Taiwan.

The best-known representatives of this special type of tea are probably Honey Oolong, Dongfang Meiren Oriental Beauty Oolong and Gui Fei Oolong Tea.

The production of these teas relies on the support of nature. The tea leaves are nibbled on by cicadas, which means that the tea plant produces more polyphenols.

This leads to the taste of wild honey and dried fruits with a slightly woody note that is so typical of these types of tea.
