New Jade Oolong tea sample arrived - Spring 2018 - the first impression

Today we were allowed to taste the newly arrived Jade Oolong tea sample from a small tea garden of a tea farmer friend.

Cultivar: Cui Yu Harvest Time: Spring 2018 Fermentation Degree: 20%

This Jade Oolong has a golden, medium-bodied infusion with a very floral, long-lasting aromatic complexity that is reminiscent of fresh floral aromas and tropical fruits that already flow out of the Yixing teapot.

This oolong is grown at 500-850 meters above sea level in Mingjian Village of Nantou County in Taiwan.

For lovers of floral notes, it would be advisable to brew the rolled tea leaves at a low temperature (~85°C) and not to steep them for too long.

However, if you prefer a stronger finish, you should brew this tea a little hotter and extend the brewing time a little.
