Our Earl Gray Tea - kissed by the bergamot - from Taiwan is a real treat and is ideal for daily consumption or for making iced tea.

According to legend, a ship between China and England got caught in a heavy storm in the 19th century. the cargo was damaged in the process and the precious bergamot oil spilled over the loaded black tea.

After arriving in England, Earl Gray tasted the "damaged" tea. Since the response was surprisingly positive, he sold it in his name.

In Taiwan, this Earl Gray tea - kissed by the bergamot - is also very popular with fresh kumquats and a little honey. To do this, squash some kumquat fruits between your fingers and place them in a teapot, complete with the skin of the fruit. After a little honey has been added, the brewed tea is added.

The kumquat is a plum-sized citrus fruit and is also known as the golden orange or Japanese orange.
