With our Shanlinxi High Mountain Oolong Selection, we would like to bring our customers closer to the wide range of different types of tea from the Shanlinxi cultivation area.
This bundle contains three different types of Oolong teas:
1. Shanlinxi Oolong from Long Feng Canyon
This Shanlinxi Oolong comes from the Long Feng Xia Canyon. There the tea gardens are located in the perfect growing areas which are shrouded in fog most of the time.
Due to its very light fermentation of 20%, the characteristic flower nectar aromas emerge very nicely.
This Shanlinxi was also lightly fermented at first. The subsequent roasting gives the tea a taste that is reminiscent of caramelized nuts.
If a tea harvest is particularly successful, the Taiwanese tea farmers like to put a certain amount aside. The tea is stored in clay pots. This tea is then taken out regularly, briefly baked to reduce the moisture and of course to taste the oolong.
Our Aged Shanlinxi Oolong was harvested in 2009 and has since developed a remarkable bouquet that is reminiscent of a honey-like liqueur Elexir. Due to the roasting process that the tea has gone through, you will also encounter slightly smoky notes.
We recommend pouring very hot water over this tea during the first infusion to "wake it up"
During the following infusions the special aroma unfolds!
