This Jin Xuan Milky Oolong is one of the popular ones Highland Oolong types of tea and tastes delightfully sweet, with a soft, creamy accent.
To prevent confusion, we would like to point out that the original Milky Oolong tea from Taiwan does not come into contact with milk in any way, as is often advertised with "Milky" Oolong teas from China :)
Milky Oolong Tea comes from the Jin Xuan tea bush (Tai Cha #12) which has been cultivated since around 1980. This type of tea is also often referred to as Golden Lily and gets its unique taste solely from the careful selection and processing of the raw materials.
The loose tea leaves are carefully picked by hand, then the tea farmers place them in the sun to let the leaves wither briefly.
During the fermentation process, the leaves are gently rubbed and shaken so that the juice that comes out reacts with the oxygen in the air.
The tea leaves are only very lightly fermented at 20 - 25%.
The loose tea leaves were handpicked on the tea plantation in winter 2021/2022
Our Jin Xuan Milky Oolong is cultivated in Chiayi County, Meishan Township, at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level.
